TRIVIA QUIZ: Where did Flash Family get its name?

In improv, a flash is a starting place, piece of idea or thought. Family is a good way to describe our ensemble, or as Webster says: A unit or group of complimentary parts that contribute to a single effect. All in all, a pretty good definition of how Flash Family works.

Since 1978, we've been astonishing audiences, in clubs like The Great American Music Hall, The Other Cafe, The Sleeping Lady Cafe, and Hotel Utah. In addition, Flash Family has been popular in high schools and colleges throughout the Bay Area.

Our shows continue to prove that 100% improv can be quality theatrical entertainment, and our spontaneous engery makes Flash Family an exciting asset to any function. Flash has worked improv magic for conventions, trade shows and corporate events, even added comic relief to sales and corporate training sessions. Our corporate fan club includes Apple Computer, PG&E, AT&T, DataEast, Granny Goose, SCO, Inmac, General Motors, Bechtel Corporation, Catholic HealthCare West, Bank of America and Montgomery Securities.

Flash Family lends support to Bay Area charities and has appeared on KNBR, KPFA, numerous voice-overs, cartoons, industrials and commercials.
