A few letters from a huge folder full:

Dear Sue,

Thank you for coaching and leading TPMG Women Physicians during our fall retreat.  Your program was well received and enjoyed, and one month later, I stil hear glowing comments from participants.

Our group loved the stimulaing exercises, and I think everyone learnied a technique or two to help increase communiction and professional relationship skills.  Personally, I loved the ample opportunity the program provided for creative spontaneity and sheer fun!

I’d recommend your program to other administrators searchnig for opportunities to enhance communication skills.  I hope we have the opportunity to work together again in 2000.

Sincerely,

Dear Sue,

I want to thank you for the successful team building that you lead for our Sun Microsystems Worldwide Installed Base Business group on Tuesday.  Admittedly, I didn’t know what to expect.

You came highly recommended for being able to provide a different experience where we could have fun and learn new ways to work more productively as a global team.  I and the team weren’t disappointed.

After the Corporate Recess the team continued to talk about their experiences and demonstrate their learning for the next two days.  I noticed an increased awareness of communications, considering other’s differences and being open to all ideas with “Yes and…”  This was clearly demonstrated in a brainstorming session the next day.  I’ve not seen such a concerted effort by a group to leave their critics at the door.

I highly recommend that other work groups experience the Corporate Recess.  The pace, length and content are exactly what we needed to bring us together in a more productive, open and fun environment.

I look forward to when we can take advantage of your services again.

Sincerely,

Anthony Medeiros

Dear Sue,

The workshops that you organized and ran at Xerox PARC were great.

Last June about 40 scientists, engineers, technicians and administrators from the PARC’s famous Computer Science Laboratory—the source of Ethernet, the laser printer, the overlapping windows interface, and lots more—participated in two Enhancing Creativity workshops which you organized and ran for us.  Boy, did we learn new skills, raise our esprit, and have a lot of fun along the way.

Things we learned from you have stuck around.  My colleagues and I regularly use your brainstorming model with spectacular results.  And, of course, we always warm up for it with some object montage.  Occasionally someone who doesn’t know what’s going on comes along, watches puzzled for a moment, and the gets swept into the montage-brainstorm by the enthusiasm and creative energy we generate with the sequence.

I look forward, Sue, to your return to PARC.  In the meanwhile I will be happy to tell anyone why it makes great sense to have you design and run a corporate training for them.

Sincerely yours,

Thomas A. Berson, PhD

Dear Sue:

Thanks once again for the superb work you did with us at last week’s Winter Retreat.  Your wit, good humor, personable style and obvious mastery of theater games and improv techniques were a highlight of our retreat.  Even those of us who are normally a little shy and reticent when it comes to theater and especially improv were comfortably and smoothly drawn out by your sensitivity and sense of appropriate pacing.  A fun time was had by all!

A quick scan of our retreat evaluations indiates not only that the group had a delightful time, but also experienced the value of your work for our own sense of bonding as a team.  Comments form the evaluations include:

“I really enjoyed beginning the retreat with Sue.  It was the best opening for me I’ve had at one of our retreats so far.”

“An excellent opening…it bonded us together…”

“A perfect way to learn and play and bond together.”

“Wonderful…great!”

I hope that we will have the opportunity to work with you again soon, Sue.  We wish you continued success with your work and for how it so wonderfully touches people.

Warmly,

Ritch Davidson
